Ross
is… Ross Falzone: father, writer, musician,
lawn-mower, little league coach, political satirist,
pick-up basketball player, garage-sale guru, and radical
heart. Former Army Reservist and retired firefighter,
Ross grew up in Rochester, New York
and now lives with his family in a log cabin in Nashville,
Tennessee.
Ross played guitar and sang in many Rochester bands
in the 60’s and 70’s including Six
Machine, Victor Rush, Sweet Dreams,
and Lis’n. Working as a recording
engineer at PCI Studios in the 80’s, the heyday
of big-league television recording in Rochester, Ross
had the privilege of working alongside such talents
as Jeff Tyzik, Steve Gadd, Don Potter, Ferdinand
Smith, Mick Guzauski, Joe English, Joe Romano, Dick
Zacari, members of the Rochester
Philharmonic Orchestra, and guitar aficionados
Mark Manetta, George Cocchini, and Jeff Gilhart.
Ross worked on productions of the HBO
boxing and movie themes, music for the Olympics
and Wimbledon, as well as industrial
films for companies such as Kodak, Xerox,
and Bausch & Lomb.
During his tenure with the City of Rochester
Fire Department, Ross received awards for
bravery and lifesaving. As board member of the Local
1076 Firefighters Union, Ross produced safety videos
for education within the department and was instrumental
in facilitating change to implement proper hearing
protection for city firefighters. Around the same
time, Ross became active in the Corpus Christi
Community (now operating as Spiritus
Christi,) worked as a volunteer with the
homeless men at Dimitri House, and
began playing music again.
After retiring from the fire department, Ross and
his wife, Kelly, moved to Nashville, Tennessee for
the amazing musicianship and songwriting that was
alive in Music City. After the birth of their son,
Ross became a stay at home dad and continued to work
on his songwriting with friends such as veteran writer
Stan Webb (writer of I’m From
the Country, Love You by Heart, and many country music
cuts) Joe Scutella, Beeb Birtles (founding
member of the Little River Band,) and Marcus
Hummon (writer of Cowboy Take Me Away, Ready
to Run, and many more country music hits.)
Radical Heart is Ross’ debut
CD, published by Poet People, the
proceeds of which will benefit Oasis Center,
a youth agency in Nashville, Tennessee. You can find
